Privacy policy

The Zinda Mobile application (the “App”) is intended for use by individuals involved in Clinical Trials or research Studies. The App was built by ZindaMetriX PTY LTD and supports the collection of data from various questionnaires, cognitive tests, assessment measures and other forms of electronic Clinical Outcome Measures (eCOA).

ZindaMetriX is committed to protecting your personal information. This privacy policy informs users about our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information collected through the App. It describes what information we may collect, how we collect, handle and protect that information, and your rights regarding that information. Our privacy policy is also intended to ensure compliance with applicable data privacy laws and regulations.

The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving our Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. If you choose to use our App in order to participate in any Clinical Trial or Study, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. To agree, you will have to understand our privacy policy and Opt-In.

Definitions

“Personal Information” means information that (1) is recorded in any form; (2) is about or pertains to a specific person; and (3) can be linked directly or indirectly to that person. Below are examples of the type of information we may collect and use.

What information may we collect

While using our App, we may require you to provide us with certain general information as well as personally identifiable information, as required by the Clinical Trial or Study you participate in. This may include but is not limited to:

Contact information, such as your email address, phone number and location.

Demographic and medical information, such as your age, gender, weight and use of medication.

Test results, such as your response to questionnaires or your performance on the cognitive tests performed through the App.

Sensor information, such as motion for motor-related tests or voice recording for cognitive tests (where applicable).

Technical information, such as the phone model you are using and its operating system.

How we protect your information

ZindaMetriX is highly committed to protecting your information. Therefore, we implement various measures such as data encryption and automated access controls that are intended to ensure your information is kept safely and is accessed only by authorized people, in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Where possible, we may remove any personal information (e.g. you name) and replace it with information that is less identifiable (e.g. a participant number). It is nevertheless important to know that despite all the measures we put in place to secure your data; we can never fully guarantee complete confidentiality.

What we do with your information

The information that we collect will be retained by us and used in accordance to the requirements of the Clinical Trial or Study you participate in. This may include but is not limited to:

*) Enrolling you into the Study.

*) Sending you information or notifications related to the Study

*) Sharing your performance data with the sponsor of the Study for use in statistical analysis.

*) Supporting any other requirement of the Clinical Trial or Study

*) Informing you of additional Studies you may be interested to hear about (if you request that we do so).

 

We may also use the information we collect to evaluate and improve our products and services.

We will retain your personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to carry out the purposes for which it was collected.

Sharing information with third parties

The Clinical Trial or Study you participate in may collaborate with or use the services of third-party entities or companies for various purposes. This may include, for example, Contract Research Organizations (CRO) hired to manage ongoing activities and handle the Study data. We may share your information with such third parties, as required by the Clinical Trial or Study you participate in.

If we are legally required to share your information with third-parties such as government, law enforcement or regulatory agencies, we may do so in accordance with the relevant legal requirements or compliance regulations.

Such third parties are obligated to protect your personal information.

In the event of a sale, amalgamation, re-organization or merger, we may transfer information we have collected to the relevant third party.

Age restriction

Our App is intended for use by people 18 years old and above. If we learn that someone has used our App to submit personal information of a person under the age of 18 years, we will delete such information from our databases as soon as reasonably possible and in accordance with the applicable law.

Withdrawing your consent and additional rights

You may at any time withdraw your consent to our collection, use or disclosure of your personal information, on reasonable notice and subject to legal or contractual restrictions. You may also request to receive a copy of your personal information.

We take required measures to ensure the information we collect is accurate. If your personal information is found to be inaccurate you may request us to correct it.

If you choose to withdraw your consent or to make any request related to your personal information, please contact us in writing by email or by post, as detailed below, and we will take required steps to ensure your rights in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the relevant laws and regulations.
